Technology Strategy

Pharmaceutical commercial organisations spend significantly on technology — CRM systems, data subscriptions, analytics platforms, digital engagement tools — and frequently find that the investment delivers less than expected. The problem is rarely the technology. It is the absence of a clear commercial technology strategy that defines what the technology needs to achieve, how it needs to integrate, and what adoption looks like in practice.

What we do

We help pharma teams make smarter commercial technology decisions — defining requirements, evaluating vendors, and designing deployment plans that reflect how the commercial organisation actually works. We are not a technology vendor or implementation partner, which means our recommendations are shaped entirely by commercial need rather than technology capability.

Specific offerings

Commercial Technology Landscape Assessment

We evaluate your current CRM, CLM, data, and digital technology stack against what your commercial strategy actually requires — identifying where investment is misaligned, where capability gaps exist, and where technology spend is not generating proportionate commercial value.

CRM & Sales Technology Strategy

We define requirements and support vendor selection for Veeva, Salesforce, and field-facing platforms — and design the deployment, configuration, adoption, and governance plans that determine whether the investment delivers its intended value in the field.

Data & Analytics Platform Strategy

We design the data architecture — integrating claims feeds (IQVIA, Symphony), specialty data, first-party CRM data, and patient-level data assets — that underpins commercial analytics and emerging AI use cases. Work includes vendor evaluation, integration design, and data governance frameworks.

Digital Health & Patient-Facing Technology

We assess and select the technology platforms that support patient support programmes, hub services, digital therapeutics, and adherence applications — with a clear-eyed view of data privacy requirements, interoperability constraints, and regulatory obligations.

Technology Vendor Selection & Implementation Oversight

We run structured, objective vendor selection processes and provide independent oversight of implementation programmes — ensuring that commercial requirements continue to drive delivery decisions as implementation complexity inevitably increases.

Commercial Technology Governance & Change Management

We design the operating model, roles, and change management infrastructure that drives technology adoption at the field and brand level — addressing the common pattern where significant technology investment produces limited behavioural change because adoption was an afterthought.

CRM Implementation: Tailored Salesforce CRM for Medical Affairs

Context

A pharma company's Medical Affairs function was managing KOL relationships, MSL activity, and scientific engagement data across disconnected spreadsheets and email systems — limiting leadership visibility, creating compliance risk, and preventing meaningful analysis of engagement patterns.

Approach

We led the design and implementation of a Salesforce CRM configured for Medical Affairs workflows — covering MSL call logging, KOL profiling, congress management, and activity reporting. Configuration was built around Medical Affairs-specific compliance requirements and integrated with the commercial CRM to enable cross-functional visibility where appropriate.

Outcome

The Medical Affairs team moved from fragmented manual tracking to a governed, real-time CRM within four months — with immediate improvements in MSL activity visibility, KOL engagement tracking, and the data quality needed to support the Medical Affairs impact analytics work described separately.
